Its almost August, and you can almost feel the test-day nerviness in you.
What do you do?
Do some all-nighters? Go binge eating? Start taking depressants to calm you down?
Seriously now, don't. It won't help at all, and you might be unfit to test come August.
Instead, take some time and read this really short list of things to do before the UPCAT day.
1. Visit your testing center.
Be familiar with the surroundings. Get a feel of what the real test day will be like, because this will help calm your nerves
and prevent your brain from panicking while taking the UPCAT.
2. Take your vitamins.
The last thing you want is to get a nasty flu on test day. Don't let some microbes stop you from gaining admission.
3. Do five quick problems in math, science and language everyday.
These go a long way in keeping your mind fresh for the test. If you want to take it further, sign up for the College Board's SAT
Question of the Day since the content is pretty similar.
4. Eat healthy and exercise.
Try to avoid those greasy burgers and fries for a month and stay healthy. This will ensure that you will be in top condition on test day.
This should be no different from an athlete's preparation for a competition, so take it seriously; this is one of the biggest competitions you'll
ever enter and there are no second chances!
5. Try chewing gum.
Lots of students swear by the idea that chewing gum helps you concentrate, while research indicates that chewing gum could help improve
test scores of students. I tried it myself, and I think it does work, but whether you'll do it yourself is up to you and your personal preferences,
but give it a try before test day at least. You'll never know if it'll work out for you.
